The legendary furniture manufacturer Standard, which changed ownership last year and embarked on a new phase of development and growth, opened a showroom with a new concept in the Veerenni quarter. In addition to presenting their own products, Standard aims to provide a meeting place for like-minded Estonian manufacturers and service providers.
According to Jonatan Karjus, a member of Standard’s board, the core of the company remains the production of quality furniture. “The people working at Standard understand the soul and intricacies of furniture, but we are capable of even more. We want to shape Standard into a business and public space furnishing expert with a strong network of collaboration and lead innovation in the field of interior design – both in Estonia and abroad. People can turn to us with the most complex projects and ideas for custom solutions,” added Karjus.
Karjus explained that throughout its 80 years of operation, Standard has created innovation with its products, earning various awards and helping export Estonian design worldwide.
Regarding the new showroom, the head of Standard said that it could become a place where other Estonian manufacturers and service providers gather to exchange ideas and create new joint projects. “My call is for you to come here to work, organize events, experiment with materials, and ask us for advice. These premises could be a gathering place for the freshest and most innovative ideas in the Estonian furniture sector,” explained Karjus.
The Standard showroom is the result of collaboration with several partners – the interior architectural solution was created by Hanna Karits, stone works were carried out by Marmi Futerno, ProScreen was responsible for presentation technology, and Avila Puit assisted with special projects. Additionally, August Künnapuu’s painting exhibition is open for visitors in the showroom.
The Standard showroom is open to all interested parties from February 5th at the address Veerenni 24.
