Tormis Laine is a truly talented Estonian alpine skier who, to everyone’s surprise, already made it to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. At just 17 years old and as the youngest member of the Estonian Olympic team, Tormis won the 40th place in the Grand Slalom.
From 2015, Tormis trained and studied at Skigymnasium Stams, the oldest and most successful ski academy in Tyrol, Austria, which he graduated this spring. This season (2019/2020) is the first to focus full-time on sports. In September there was a snow camp in Ushuia with the German national team, and this week Tormis will travel to Austria for training in Sölden and Pitztal Gletscher. The first competitions are expected in November.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for Tormis and we wish him every success and quick skis!
